Hello Lovelies! There is a new Van Gogh book out this week,

Van Gogh’s Ear, by Bernadette Murphy.

It’s supposed to have some new information and of course I can’t wait to read it!

Have you heard that you can stay a night in a room modeled after Van Gogh’s famous painting of his bedroom in Arles?

The Art Institute of Chicago offers a night’s stay in this room. You can read an article here.

Here are the rooms side by side.

The famous painting, Bedroom at Arles on the left. The recreated room on the right.

I so want to stay there!! If you have, please let me know.

Bar at the Folies Bergere

Bar at the Folies Bergere, 1882 by Edouard Manet.

This was my Mom’s favorite painting. She’s always on my mind, but especially since the holiday season is approaching I’m thinking of her. Growing up, we couldn’t afford much but once in a while she took us to The Art Institute of Chicago and we saw this painting there. Now whenever I see this or any of Manet’s paintings, I think of her like a sign that she’s thinking of me too.
